Nursing Home in Bras-Panon, Réunion Island
Located in Bras-Panon, on the east coast of Réunion Island, this nursing home project forms part of a major development aimed at strengthening care provision for elderly people requiring assistance in a region experiencing rapid demographic growth.
Developed by Énéal in partnership with the ORIAPA association, the facility offers more than 100 individual bedrooms organised into small-scale living units, providing residents with personalised care and a comfortable living environment.
Designed by LAB Réunion Architects, the project features an architectural approach that is both functional and closely connected to its surroundings. The compact three-storey building is organised around a landscaped central courtyard, providing abundant natural light, enhanced comfort and high-quality outdoor spaces.
The architectural concept goes beyond the traditional model of a healthcare facility by creating a genuine living environment that encourages social interaction, well-being and the preservation of community life.
As part of this project, BAUDET manufactured and delivered 111 prefabricated bathroom pods, integrated directly into the bedrooms and throughout the facility.
The use of prefabrication effectively meets the specific requirements of healthcare and care home facilities by providing:
- Consistent quality across all units
- Reliable control of construction schedules
- Long-term durability and reliability of equipment
- An efficient solution for repetitive building programmes
This approach helps ensure a high level of comfort for residents while simplifying the operation and long-term maintenance of the facility.
