Debourg Student Residence in Lyon

The new Debourg Student Residence is located in the heart of Lyonʼs Gerland district, in the immediate vicinity of the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the area's main higher education facilities.

Developed by the CROUS of Lyon, the project aims to replace an outdated student residence with a modern facility offering increased accommodation capacity, improved comfort, and compliance with today's standards for accessibility, safety and student well-being.

The development includes nearly 450 student apartments, a multi-purpose sports hall and community spaces. The landscaped outdoor areas, fully integrated into the overall design, will help create a vibrant living environment that is open to its surroundings.

The project also follows an ambitious environmental strategy through the use of bio-based materials, low-carbon construction methods and an extensive programme for reusing materials recovered from the demolition of the existing buildings.

For this new student residence, BAUDET is manufacturing and delivering 452 steel-structured prefabricated bathroom pods.

Prefabrication is particularly well suited to large-scale student accommodation projects, where repetitive room layouts and demanding quality requirements call for reliable, industrialised solutions.
